Susan Finch has plenty of fond memories visiting her grandmother’s house on Scenic Loop in Helotes as a child. Later, when she was an adult, her parents inherited the house and the 3½ acres of the land it was on, building their own house nearby, complete with a backyard pool.
“My mother had a birthday party for my dad’s 50th birthday at that house,” she recalled. “I remember sitting out by the pool when this young man who worked with my mom came walking out. And that’s when I met Nelson; we’ve been married almost 39 years.”
